High frequency transformer is a power transformer whose working frequency exceeds the intermediate frequency (10kHz), which is mainly used as a high frequency switching power transformer in high frequency switching power supply, and is also used as a high frequency inverter power transformer in high frequency inverter power supply and high frequency inverter welding machine. According to the working frequency, it can be divided into several grades: 10kHz-50kHz, 50kHz-100kHz, 100kHz ~ 500kHz, 500kHz ~ 1MHz, 10MHz or more.

Inductor is a device that converts electrical energy into magnetic energy and stores it. The structure of the inductor is similar to that of a transformer, and the inductor has a certain inductance, which only blocks the change of current. If the inductor is in the state of no current passing through, it will try to prevent the current from flowing through it while the circuit is on; If the inductor is in the state of current passing through, it will try to maintain the current when the circuit is disconnected. Inductors are also called choke, reactor, dynamic reactor.

The difference:

Transformers are mainly used for voltage conversion, which is based on the law of electromagnetic induction. Inductors are commonly used in electronic circuits, according to Lenz's law. The former generally has two or three windings, there are primary windings and secondary windings, for the boost transformer, the number of turns in the primary winding is less and the diameter is thick, the number of turns in the secondary winding is more and the diameter is thin, and the step-down transformer is the opposite, the primary turns are more and the diameter is thin, the number of secondary turns is less and the diameter is thick, which is widely used as a power supply in various electrical appliances. Inductors are basically used in electronic circuits in two ways:

1, combined with capacitance and resistance for waveform generation circuit or frequency selection circuit,

2, in the current is relatively large and the pulse is relatively large occasions into the circuit used as a flat wave. There are many other occasions, such as the ballast in the fluorescent lamp, mainly based on the principle that the current at both ends of the inductor cannot be mutated when the current change rate is too fast to produce a high reverse electromotive force.
