Operating frequency matching: High frequency transformer has its specific design operating frequency range, be sure to ensure that the actual operating frequency is in this range. If the operating frequency is too low, it may lead to saturation of the magnetic core, resulting in a sharp increase in current and damage to the transformer. If the frequency is too high, it will increase the skin effect and proximity effect of the winding, resulting in a significant increase in copper loss and a decrease in transformer efficiency. For example, a high-frequency transformer designed for the frequency range of 100kHz-500kHz, if used in tens of kHz circuits, it is prone to core saturation problems.

Voltage and current limits: strictly follow the rated voltage and rated current parameters of the transformer. If the voltage applied exceeds the rated value, the magnetic flux density of the magnetic core will be too large, causing the magnetic core to overheat or even burn. Current overload will also cause winding overheating, accelerate insulation aging, shorten the life of the transformer. In the actual circuit, it is necessary to prevent voltage and current anomalies through appropriate circuit design, such as overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection circuit.

Core selection and maintenance: Select core materials based on application scenarios. Different core materials, such as ferrite and amorphous alloys, have different permeability, saturation magnetic flux density and loss characteristics. In the high frequency environment, the ferrite core is widely used because of its low loss, high resistivity and other characteristics, but attention should be paid to avoid severe impact or vibration of the core to prevent the core from breaking and affecting the performance. If the magnetic core is found to have cracks and other damage, should be replaced in time.

Winding connection and insulation: Ensure that the winding connection is correct and firm. The wrong connection, such as the wrong number of turns in the winding, the same end connection, will seriously affect the transformer's transformer ratio and working performance. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that there is good insulation performance between the windings and the winding and the magnetic core. Poor insulation may lead to a short circuit in the winding and cause a fault. During assembly and use, avoid damaging the insulation layer and check the insulation resistance regularly.

Heat dissipation and ventilation: high-frequency transformers will produce a certain amount of heat when working, and good heat dissipation and ventilation conditions are crucial. Overheating will degrade the performance of the transformer and accelerate the aging of the insulation material. Heat dissipation can be enhanced by installing heat sinks and optimizing the internal ventilation structure of the device. For example, a fan is set near a high-frequency transformer with large power to force air cooling to ensure smooth air flow around the transformer.

Shielding and interference: high-frequency transformers will produce electromagnetic interference (EMI) when they work, and are also vulnerable to external electromagnetic interference. For application scenarios with high EMI requirements, the transformer needs to be screened. Metal shielding can be used to isolate the transformer from the outside world, reduce interference to the outside world, and prevent external interference from coupling to the transformer to affect its normal operation.

Installation and fixing: the high-frequency transformer should be installed in a stable position to avoid shaking or displacement during the working process. Unstable installation can cause problems such as loose windings and poor contact of connection points. Use appropriate fasteners, such as screws and fasteners, to secure the transformer in the equipment chassis.

Regular testing and maintenance: Regularly test the high-frequency transformer, including measuring winding resistance, insulation resistance, transformer ratio and other parameters, to check whether there is any abnormal appearance, such as winding discoloration, magnetic core cracking and so on. Timely treatment of problems, regular cleaning of dust and other debris on the transformer surface to keep it clean to ensure long-term stable operation of the transformer.
